Platinum and Gold Status Members

A reminder for elite level members on changes to booking class eligibility in attaining and retaining Gold status, and use of Complimentary Upgrades by Platinum and Gold status members, that took effect on 01 January 2020.

• Booking classes T, K, S, G, V, W, L are no longer eligible in flight sector evaluations on THAI and THAI Smile for attaining or retaining Gold status. However, these booking classes continue to earn miles at 75% - 25% of qualifying miles flown, excluding L class.
• Complimentary Platinum and Gold Upgrades can no longer be used with purchased Economy Class tickets in booking classes T, K, S, G, V, W, L.

Gold Status Evaluation Change

International 40 sector evaluations to attain and retain Gold status are designed for members who fly frequently on regional routes. Travel with both THAI and THAI Smile is now included in 40 sector evaluations, excluding booking classes T,K,S,G,V,W,L.

Service Fees

A Reminder for Platinum and Gold members: Gold Complimentary Upgrades and the 2020 Award for top tier Gold and Platinum members are subject to service fee*.

*Remark: Fee for requesting ticket redemption on Gold and Platinum Award 2020 is subject to local government rules and regulations.

Commencing 01 March 2020 new service fees for all members take effect for reservation changes to issued Award tickets, change of flight date or flight number on the same routing.

THAI and THAI Smile Awards:

Economy Class (X) and Smile Plus Class (E)

• THB 2,500 / USD 85 (or equivalent USD amount in local currency) Royal Silk Class (I) and Royal First Class (O)
• THB 3,500 / USD 120 (or equivalent USD amount in local currency)

Beyond Bangkok: THAI and Star Alliance Awards

• All Classes of Service: THB 3,750 / USD 125 (or equivalent USD amount in local currency)
